About Cinnamon

Born and raised in the heart of New York City “BROOKLYN” Cinnamon experienced the passion of music at an early age through Brooklyn’s neighborhood gospel choirs. At a young age   she formed the group “Young Shades of Black” performing popular songs with a twisted flavor that sparked her own unique vibe. This vibe ignited Cinnamons urge to pursue a career as a solo artist. Her solo career catapulted when she ventured off to the West Coast. During her time in California she performed on many stage productions. Audiences in the Bay area were drawn to the religious fervor Cinnamon brings to her music, and as a reward, she was awarded “best female vocalist in the Bay area” by top star awards a consecutive 3 years in a row. She was also featured in Billboard magazine as one of the year’s “up and coming” new performers.

While utilizing her remarkable gift of performance, Cinnamon effortlessly combines her rich vocal talents with acting skills, in roles productions like Dream Girls and Bubbling Brown Sugar. She is also fortunate enough to add producing to her long list of facilities, an essential component in forming a spectacular entertainer. She successfully produced locally acclaimed stage productions.  During her career thus far, Cinnamon has also had the privilege to perform as an opening act for a list of phenomenal entertainers such as; R & B legends Rick James and Jeffrey Osborne, Neo-Soul artist Eric Benet, Jazz artists Marion Meadows and Rick Braun, along with comedians Paul Mooney and Tommy Davidson.

Since leaving California, Cinnamon has returned to her native State of New York. She currently resides in Rochester, NY where she’s sang commercial jingles for United Way, Pella Windows, Shear Ego (Salon/Spa), Rochester Transit System (RTS), Henderson Automotive, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Aside from her role of entertainer, Cinnamon is also a humanitarian. She continues to give benefit concerts (while soliciting local musicians) to help local and worldwide organizations such as; The Tsunami Relief Benefit, Alternative for Battered Women and Children Awaiting Parents just to name a few. With excellent musical instincts, and the earthy voice that matches the searching sincerity of her songs, Cinnamon loses herself in the power of the music, allowing it to flow uninhibited through her voice. All you’ll need to hear is one note bellowed by this talented beauty and you’ll be caught up in the rapture that is truly a spice of Cinnamon!
